Charlie Sheen TMZ interview: "Let's go to war"

Charlie Sheen, quote machine and erstwhile star of "Two and a Half Men," gave a live interview with TMZ.com from his backyard. Without the constraints of morning news interviews (and according to reports, his publicist) Sheen was free to ramble. And ramble he did.



"I'm crazy, I'm passionate and I speak the truth," Sheen told TMZ interviewer Mike Walters. The actor repeated claims he has made in recent interviews that he is exceptional.

"I have a grandiose life. I embrace it." Sheen said. "Sorry my life is so much more bitchin' than yours. I planned it this way."

Sure, Sheen has stumbled a bit in recent days - a suitcase filled with cocaine, a porn star cowering in a closet, and a mouth full of rotting teeth, if some of his accusers are to be believed.

But, according to Sheen, it's important to blame the right people - namely the ones lining his pockets with cash. "I say blame the studio," he said, "for giving me this much dough, knowing who they were giving it to."

Speaking of dough, Sheen is demanding quite a bit more of it in order to return to "Two and a Half Men." He told NBC on Monday morning he wanted a $1.2 million dollar per episode raise.

As for the show's creator, Chuck Lorre, Sheen had mixed reviews.

"I give him credit for creating something brilliant," he said at one point. But also commented, "I think he burned out before I did. I don't have burnout in my gearbox. I don't have it. I just have go."

Sheen also got a bit Sun Tzu during the interview.

"I'm insulted. I am confused," he said, "but these resentments they are the rocket fuel that lives in the tip of my saber. Want to go to war. Let's go to war."

That seems at odds with Sheen's idea of how to solve this dispute. "Let's get back on stage. We'll figure it out in a creative environment, not in a legal environment," he said.

In related news, Sheen's long-time publicist, Stan Rosenfield, quit. In a statement, Rosenfield said, "I'm unable to work effectively as his publicist and have respectfully resigned."

But who needs a publicist anyway? As Sheen says, "every plan I have is the best plan in the room."

Shania Twain has split from her husband

The "That Don't Impress Me Much" singer and record producer Robert "Mutt" Lange have decided to end their marriage after fourteen years.

Shania's spokesperson confirmed the pair were breaking-up, saying: "Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage. This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time."

Shania, 42, and 59-year-old producer Robert first met in 1993 and married just six months later.

Rumors their marriage was in trouble first surfaced in 2000, but the couple stayed together, and moved to Switzerland shortly after reports surfaced.

Shania later admitted she had struggled to cope with fame, explaining: "I needed a break, physically and mentally. I needed to leave behind the whole 'Shania' thing and be myself."

Shania and Robert worked together extensively, with him producing and co-writing many of her hits including "You're Still the One" and "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!."

The couple have a seven-year-old son, Eja D'Angelo.

Shania is due to release a new album and signature perfume later this year.

Zahara pretends she's pregnant

The Oscar-winning beauty - who is expecting twins with partner Brad Pitt - says three-year-old Zahara is trying to be like her mommy, and keeps saying the "piggy" inside her is making her crave chocolate brownies.

Angelina - who also has two adopted sons, Maddox, six, and Pax, four, as well as 23-month-old biological daughter Shiloh with Brad - told British breakfast TV show "GMTV": "The kids are excited and they are starting to understand about me being pregnant. We've had it before with Shiloh so they know what's going on."

"Zahara pretends she's pregnant too and says she has an animal in her tummy. She says the piggy is making her eat all the chocolate brownies!"

"And Pax says he's got a baby monkey inside him! So it's really fun in our house at the moment."

Angelina also confirmed she is considering delivering her babies in France, because the entire family can speak the language.

She added: "I actually haven't completely decided. We are certainly thinking of France."

"French is a second language in the house, although I'm still learning. My children are starting to speak French, so being in the country is very good for them and their language skills."

New York City police officials told the New York Times that the apartment Heath Ledger overdosed in was owned by Mary-Kate Olsen:

Officials said they believed Ms. Olsen, 21, was in California and that Mr. Ledger had been living in her apartment. Ms. Olsen attended the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, for the premiere of “The Wackness,” a film in which she stars with the actor Ben Kingsley. It was not clear where she went after the film screening. Spokesman for the NYPD, Ronald Jones, told press assembled outside of Olsen’s apartment: “We knew it was Mary-Kate’s apartment because it lacked a kitchen.” (Source)

Eddie Murphy's Marriage is Already Over

Eddie Murphy and his new wife are calling it quits.

It was confirms that Murphy and Tracey Edmonds, who unofficially tied the knot on New Year's Day in Bora Bora, have canceled their legal ceremony.

Dave Caplan of People said that the "Sources tell People that the honeymoon got off to a rocky start and they were squabbling and bickering from the get-go, and that fighting continued throughout the week."

Actor Eddie Murphy says he plans to "remain friends" with film producer Tracey Edmonds, two weeks after they had a "symbolic marriage" ceremony

In a statement, the couple said they had decided after "much consideration" not to have a formal ceremony.

They added it was "not necessary to define our relationship further".

It's A Baby Boy For Christina

Christina Aguilera is a new mom.

The pop singer gave birth to her first child a boy on Saturday night,
"Christina and Jordan [Bratman] are proud to announce the birth of their son Max Liron Bratman. He was born on January 12th, 2008 at 10:05 p.m. weighing in at 6 pounds 2 oz. and 20.5 inches long," a rep for the singer said in a statement. "Mom is resting and doing well!"
“Today is a very joyful and special day for Jordan and I as we welcome our first son into this world,” Aguilera told fans via her Web site.She posted a special video for her song “Save Me From Myself,” in honor of her son’s arrival.
Aguilera wasn’t the only star to give birth this past weekend.
Nicole Richie also gave birth to her little girl, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, on Friday.

reality TV star Nicole Richie and her rock star boyfriend Joel Madden have had a baby girl, according to People magazine.
Richie, the daughter of soul singer Lionel Richie has named her daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden.
Speaking to the publication, Madden said: "We are very blessed she's healthy and beautiful."
A spokesman for Richie and Madden has confirmed the couple have now left the hospital in Los Angeles.
Richie revealed she was pregnant in August as a court case and the prospect of a prison sentence loomed over her for charges of driving under the influence.

Eminem Recovering After Hospitalization

Rap superstar Eminem is recovering at home after a bout of pneumonia put him in hospital.
A rep for the star, issued a statement, confirming Eminem did have to visit a hospital in the run up to New Years.
“Over the holidays, Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, was under doctor's care at a Detroit-area hospital for complications due to pneumonia. He has since been released and is doing well recovering at home,” the statement read.
Since the story started circulating the internet, reports have surfaced that Eminem’s hospitalization was due to more serious issues. A source close to the star however told Access, that his hospitalization had nothing to do with his heart or a weight problem.
Eminem, 35, rose to stardom thanks to a number of best-selling CDs, personal lyrics and a starring role in the hit 2002 film "8 Mile."
He has won Grammys, including best rap album for "The Slim Shady LP," "The Marshall Mathers LP" and "The Eminem Show," as well as an Oscar for the song "Lose Yourself" from "8 Mile."

Halle Berry Is Excited: She Already Finished With Nursery

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry still have a couple more months before baby, but the Oscar-winner is admitting that the parents-to-be just can’t wait.
“We're done with our nursery,” Halle told “Extra” at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, where she was honored with an achievement award. “That's been done for about a month. I'm that kind of Type-A personality!”
As for whether the nursery will be painted pink or blue, Halle said, “No, we’re going to wait. We’re going to be surprised.”
So how do you decorate the nursery without knowing the sex of the baby?
“Organic!” Halle explained. “Most all organic things are neutral and natural. We're doing soft greens.”
The gorgeous star, 41, and Gabriel, 31, will welcome their first child early this year – and Gabriel is as ready as can be.

Britney SpearsBritney Spears is now in an LA hospital awaiting a mental evaluation after being taken from her house by ambulance crews.
TMZ.com reports the 26-year-old singer had to be wheeled out of her Beverly Hills mansion by paramedics and taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on a "medical hold" after police found her under the influence of an "unknown substance".
the singer was designated a "special needs" patient," meaning "they have either overdosed or tried to commit suicide," a hospital source tells.
"So we go stay with these patients and monitor them constantly," the source adds. "We watch them so they don't hurt themselves and watch the people who come visit them to make sure they don't pass anything to them."
Pagesix.com reports that she has lost a tremendous amount of weight due to "mental stress and anguish" over her ongoing custody battle for her two children with ex-husband Kevin Federline.Officers were called to the singer's home about 8pm (local time) after she reportedly refused to return custody of her two sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, back over to their father's bodyguard as part of court orders.
Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Jason Lee said officers had been called to the home to deal with a "family custody dispute".
"While officers were on the scene, they observed Ms Spears under the influence of an unknown substance," Lee said.
"She is now being taken in for an evaluation to a hospital.
"There were no reported injuries to anyone involved including the children."
Lee would not confirm who made the call requesting police assistance.
